Brad Goss is the sitting Roane County Commissioner for District 2, a three-seat district, and is running for re-election as an independent, filing his petition on February 5, 2026 12. As an independent he did not run in the May 5 party primary; he faces a contested August 6, 2026 general election against fellow independent incumbent Greg Ferguson, GOP primary winner and incumbent Junior Hendrickson, and non-incumbent Republican primary winners Chris Ahler and Mike Kittrell for the district's three seats 23.

Goss has represented District 2 on the Roane County Commission for the term running September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2026 1, and serves on several commission committees, including the Agriculture Extension, Building Inspector/Code Review, County Owned Back Tax Property, Ethics, Finance, Long Range Planning, Personnel, Property, and Sheriff's Liaison committees 4.
