Jones was born and raised in Lafayette, Tennessee. He earned his law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Alabama.
Career
After law school, Jones joined the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) attorney and served on active duty for more than eleven years, working both as a defense attorney and as a senior prosecutor. He left active duty in 2018 and moved back to Tennessee, where he joined the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee as an Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuting drug trafficking and other serious federal crimes.
