Kevin Edwards is the Democratic candidate for Forsyth County Clerk of Superior Court in the November 3, 2026 general election; he filed his candidacy on December 4, 2025 12. The Clerk of Superior Court is the county's chief court record-keeper, responsible for court filings, juror lists, estate and vital records, and issuing marriage licenses.
Edwards was born in Asheville, North Carolina, and grew up in Buncombe County before his family relocated; he graduated from Davie High School and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology and Space Design from Forsyth Technical Community College 1.
Edwards began his public-service career in 1997 as an office assistant with the Community Service Work Program under the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety, and later worked as a deputy courtroom clerk in the Forsyth County Clerk of Superior Court's office under then-Clerk Terry L. Holbrook 1. Since September 2001 he has worked at the Forsyth County District Attorney's Office, starting as a victim-witness legal assistant and now serving as an administrative assistant overseeing staff and human-resources functions 1.
