Brian Duke, a Republican, won a Henderson County Commission seat in District 3 in the 2026 county elections. In the May 5, 2026 Republican primary he finished second among the district's candidates (about 385 votes), advancing to the August 6, 2026 general election alongside incumbent Todd Beecham 1. District 3 is a multi-member district that elects two commissioners.
Office history
Duke is the sitting sheriff of Henderson County, a post he has held for roughly 18 years 2. In 2024 he announced he would not seek re-election as sheriff and would retire at the end of his term; Brad Atkinson won the 2026 Republican primary to succeed him as sheriff 12.
