James Nelson Bailey

James N. Bailey is a Republican candidate for the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners in the 2026 primary election. He appears on the ballot for one of the three commissioner seats and is not an incumbent officeholder ²⁹.

Bailey was born and raised in the Winecoff area of Concord/Kannapolis and attended Northwest Cabarrus High School, completing his K‑12 education in the Cabarrus County School System ¹⁷. After a year off, Bailey returned to public safety as the Assistant Director of Campus Health, Safety, and Security at Rowan‑Cabarrus Community College, a position he has held since June 2024.
