Career

Gilmore has spent his career in law enforcement. He served with the Clarksville City Police for seven years and as a School Resource Supervisor with the Cheatham County Sheriff's Office for ten years, and has worked as a Law Enforcement Liaison for the Tennessee Highway Safety Office 4.

In the June 2026 vote on the county's 2026-2027 fiscal-year budget, Gilmore was among the commissioners who cast a dissenting vote 3.
