Hill has worked for decades as a self-employed journeyman electrician. A 2018 newspaper profile put his experience at "over 26 years" at that time 4; per his 2024 Ballotpedia Candidate Connection survey, he reported 42 years of experience and said he grew up working in his father's electrical construction company 1. In that same survey, Hill describes himself as the founder of "Healing Our America," which he calls "a grassroots libertarian service ministry" engaging in "voluntary acts of charity, community service, and goodwill in local communities" 1. Per the 2018 profile, he also volunteered as a youth basketball coach for 14 years through Cabarrus County Parks & Recreation and Philadelphia Presbyterian Church 4.
Hill ran unsuccessfully for a Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners seat in 2018 as an independent candidate, campaigning on opioid-crisis and cannabis-policy issues 4.
