Lawrence Denton Jr

Lawrence Denton Jr. is a Democratic candidate for Criminal Court Clerk in Shelby County, Tennessee [7]. During his tenure there, he assisted with the implementation of programs including the Day Reporting Center, Intensive Supervision, and Global Positioning System (GPS) monitoring, which provided alternatives to incarceration for justice-involved individuals [7].

Denton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 from the University of Tennessee Martin, majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology [7]. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and played percussion in the university's marching band [7]. He resides in Memphis, Tennessee, with his wife of 21 years, and they have raised a son and daughter [7]. In his personal time, he enjoys fishing, playing poker, and riding mountain bikes [7].
