She pursued further studies at Blue Ridge Community College and attended both Brevard College and Montreat College\u30103\u3011. She is married to Ernest W.\u202fMcCall\u202fSr., has three children and seven grandchildren\u30103\u3011.\n\nBefore entering public service, McCall built a career in the lighting industry. She worked for GE Lighting Inc. from 1991 to 2001 and later for Hubbell Lighting Inc., retiring in 2017 after a 14\u2011year tenure\u30103\u3011.
