Tim Shelton is the Republican Anderson County Register of Deeds, running unopposed for reelection in the August 6, 2026 county general election after no other candidate qualified 12.
Career
Shelton has served as Register of Deeds since September 2002 1. He was named Tennessee's Register of the Year in 2004 and 2009, elected president of the Tennessee Register of Deeds Association in 2005, elected president of the County Officials Association of Tennessee in 2013, and named Tennessee's County Official of the Year in 2017 1.
Office history
The office he leads was the first in the country to provide public online access to its indexes and images, beginning March 24, 1997, and it has offered e-recording for banks and attorneys since 2007 1.
