James William Dixon

James William "Jimmy" Dixon is the incumbent Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for District 4, covering parts of Duplin and Wayne counties. He is seeking re‑election in the November 3, 2026 general election, having defeated Marcella Barbour with 81.7% of the vote in the March 3, 2026 Republican primary ¹.

Born February 11, 1945 in Friendship, North Carolina, Dixon graduated from James Kenan High School in Warsaw, where he excelled in football.
