Office history

Current office and 2026 campaign

Bradford T. Polk is the Democratic Party nominee for Hardeman County School Board, District 1, Position 2, and is unopposed in the August 6, 2026 county general election 1.

Documented disputes and controversies

Polk became the Democratic nominee after the Tennessee Democratic Party overturned the result of the District 1, Position 2 Democratic primary on May 30, 2026 2. Danita Woods had initially defeated Polk by 23 votes, but the result was reversed after state officials found that an individual "who is legally prohibited from assisting voters because of a prior conviction regarding voter fraud in Tennessee" had assisted absentee-by-mail voters in this and another Hardeman County school board race, according to Tennessee Coordinator of Elections Mark Goins 2. State officials requested a separate criminal investigation; the individual involved was not identified in the report, and no allegation was reported against Polk 2.
