Civil Miller-Watkins ran as a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate from Tennessee in the 2024 election cycle 12. She lost the August 1, 2024 Democratic primary to Gloria Johnson 4.
Miller-Watkins' campaign focused on the following issue areas 1:
Education: Supporting public schools as a first-choice option and enacting gun safety laws to allow students to feel safe in school and in the community.
Health care: Advocating for women's reproductive rights, supporting caregivers of family members, improving maternal care outcomes, and reducing rural healthcare access gaps.
Economy: Expanding the availability of well-paying jobs, supporting unions to strengthen the middle class, and promoting economic policy that broadens opportunity.
