Career
Carver served in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 1994. He then spent two decades in local law enforcement, as an officer with the Mooresville Police Department (1995-2000) and the Iredell County Sheriff's Office (2000-2020) 14.

Before his election to the state House, Carver served on the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education, District 7, from 2018 to 2022 14. He was first elected to House District 95 in 2022, defeating Mike Robinson in the November 2024 general election with 64.5% of the vote 1.
