Eric Dunn grew up in Sparks, Nevada. He was the first member of his family to graduate from college. He attended law school at night while working, earning his law degree while managing professional responsibilities.
Dunn spent approximately eight years as an avionics technician in the United States Air Force before pursuing his legal education. After earning his law degree, he built a career in California local government law, serving as City Attorney for the cities of Perris and Hesperia, California. He went on to co-found a local government law firm that grew to approximately 100 attorneys. After retiring, Dunn and his family relocated to Catawba County, North Carolina.
