Edward Goodwin Rankin Jr., known publicly as Mick Rankin, is the Republican candidate for Wilson County Board of Commissioners, District 4, in the 2026 general election 12. District 4 encompasses the communities of Saratoga, Stantonsburg, and Black Creek 1. He filed after concluding that incumbent commissioner Roger Lucas would not seek reelection: “I had discussion with the current commissioner (Roger Lucas) and I feel pretty confident that he’s decided not to run, and so I thought I would go ahead and fill that void,” Rankin said. “We definitely need a good voice for the folks of that district. I live in the district, so I feel like I can do a good job for them” 1.
