William "Pat" Clements is the Democratic nominee for Rutherford County Commission District 19 in the August 6, 2026 county general election, running against independent incumbent Romel McMurry.21 His campaign priorities include growth aligned with infrastructure capacity, quality job creation, affordable housing, environmental protection, education support, transportation solutions, and transparent government.1 His campaign motto is, "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."1
Background and education
Clements has been a Middle Tennessee resident since 1997 and a Rutherford County resident since 2016.1
Career
Clements has a 28-year career in healthcare information technology, including systems integration and information security, and remains employed full-time in the field.1
