Jerry D. Adcock is the incumbent DeKalb County commissioner for District 5, seeking reelection in the 2026 general election.1 Amid a county debate over the location of a new jail, Adcock has said he has "argued against the location of the new jail since day one" and favors building onto the facility's existing addition from about 2000 instead.2 DeKalb County commissioners voted 10-4 in 2026 to authorize up to $35 million in borrowing for a new jail.3
