Robert Allan Ross, known as Rob Ross, is the incumbent Republican commissioner representing District 2 on the Dare County Board of Commissioners. His district covers Nags Head, Colington, and Kill Devil Hills. Ross won re-election decisively in the March 2026 Republican primary.
Background and education
Ross holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University.
Career
Ross has 36 years of financial management experience. His career included senior roles at Procter and Gamble, PepsiCo, Shasta Beverages, and Carlson Companies. He retired in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer of Limited Brands International, a division of L Brands. He has owned property in Dare County since 1992 and moved to Nags Head full time in 2013.
Ross serves as Chair of the Dare County Audit Committee, the Capital Improvements Planning Committee, and the 5 on 5 Committee, a joint body with the Dare County Board of Education.
