John E. Stamps was elected Alderman in November of 2016. Prior to being elected Alderman, he was appointed by the Board to fill the remaining two years of the Position 5 term that was left vacant following the death of Alderman Jimmy Lott in January of 2015.
Alderman Stamps, a 25-year resident of Collierville, has served on the Collierville Planning Commission, Historic District Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, the 2040 Collierville Land Use Steering Committee, and is a graduate and former board member of Leadership Collierville.
He is broker/owner of Stamps Real Estate Company and currently holds the GRI, CRS, and CRB designations. He is a member of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, serving on the Board of Directors and as Vice President. He has also served on many MAAR committees to include: The Grievance Committee, Professional Standards Committee, Governmental Affairs and is the current Chairman of the Governing Documents Committee. Stamps is also a member of the National Association of Realtors and Tennessee Association of Realtors from where he has received the Realtor of the Year Award.
An avid community volunteer, he has served on the boards of the Memphis Down Syndrome Association and Main Street Collierville, worked with Habitat for Humanity, the Memphis D.A.D.S group, (Dads appreciating Down syndrome) and helped with many other area organizations.
John is married to Kathy and they have 2 children, Brooke (21) and Thomas (17). He attended The University of Memphis. During their family time you may find them enjoying deep sea fishing on the coast or at one of the area lakes boating and enjoying water sports.
