Rickey Hobson is a Democratic candidate for Fayette County Commissioner, District 12, Position 1 in Tennessee [1]. He was born in Somerville, Tennessee, and resides there [7]. Hobson holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin (1980–1994) and a master's degree from Dowling College (2005) [7]. His professional background includes employment with Delta Air Lines since 1997, prior work at Northwest Airlines, and tenure as a manager at FedEx from 1997 to 2008 [7]. He also serves as a loan executive for the United Way of The Mid-South and is co-chair of the Access Control Committee for the Saint Jude Golf Classic [7].

Hobson has previously sought federal office, running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Tennessee's 8th Congressional District in both 2014 and 2016 as a Democrat [1]. In the 2014 Democratic primary, he received 33.3% of the vote (9,014 votes) but was defeated by Wes Bradley [1]. He ran again in 2016, defeating Gregory Alan Frye in the Democratic primary with 54.8% of the vote [1]. In the general election that year, Hobson received 25.1% of the vote (70,925 votes) against Republican David Kustoff, who won with 68.8% [1].
