David B. Hawk is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing the 5th district, which includes Unicoi County and parts of Greene County. He has served since January 2003. In 2020, he ran for Tennessee's 1st Congressional District, placing seventh with approximately five percent of the vote.
Hawk was born on June 21, 1968. He attended Tusculum University and East Tennessee State University, graduating with honors in marketing. He later attended Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior Executives in State and Local Government program in 2006.
Before entering politics, Hawk worked as a haberdasher. He has served in the Tennessee House continuously since 2002 and sits on committees including Commerce, Conservation and Environment, and Parks and Tourism.
