James "Shug" Stroud is the sitting Tipton County Constable for District 6, covering the Drummonds area, and is running again in the August 6, 2026 county general election.1 He is running as an Independent, as is standard for Tipton County constable candidates.1 Stroud has held the District 6 seat since at least 2019, when he won election with 758 votes.2
Career
As constable, Stroud has received in-service training in report writing and jail-intake procedures led by District 7 Constable Michael Osborn, and has participated in the county's annual duty-weapon requalification.3
