He won the seat in 2022, defeating state Rep. Mark Hall in the Republican primary and Democrat Patricia Waters in the general election. District 1 covers Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, and Rhea Counties in Southeast Tennessee.\n\nLowe is a conservative Republican and has focused on fiscal responsibility, public safety, and limiting government regulation. He is seeking a second term in 2026.\n\n## Background and education\nLowe was born on January 8, 1981. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee; a Master of Public Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga; and a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.\n\n## Career\nLowe served on the Bradley County Commission for District 3 from 2010 to 2014. He became well known in the Chattanooga-area media market as a conservative talk radio host on Talk 101.3 FM's \"Man Up America\" program. He has also worked as an author and adjunct college professor. He entered the 2022 Senate race to replace the retiring Sen.
