Office history
Gibson began serving as a Mount Carmel alderman in November 2020 and was in his second term as alderman when he was elected mayor of Mount Carmel on November 5, 2024, unseating incumbent Pat Stilwell 2. He was sworn in as Mount Carmel's mayor by Tennessee State Representative Tim Hill in a subsequent ceremony 3. As mayor his stated priorities include economic development, sewer plant updates, and continuing to rebrand and rebuild the reputation of Mount Carmel 2. He is listed as the current mayor of Mount Carmel in the Rogersville Chamber of Commerce directory 4.
