Current office and 2026 campaign

Laura Davidson is the District 5 commissioner and is seeking re-election in the August 6, 2026 election 1. She appears on the ballot as an Independent 3. Announcing her re-election bid, she said, "I am honored to serve the residents of District 5 and proud of the progress we have made together," and described Rutherford County as "a growing community with incredible potential" 1.

Davidson was first elected to the Rutherford County Commission in 2022 1.

Career

Davidson has been a community volunteer in La Vergne for over a decade 2. She has served as chief of Box 100, a nonprofit that assists fire, police, and emergency personnel with crowd and traffic control as well as rehab services, and has volunteered on La Vergne city boards and committees including the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, the Greenway Advisory Committee, the Industrial Development Board, and the Local Emergency Planning Committee 2.
