Tyler L. King, a sitting Campbell County Commissioner, is running as an Independent for Campbell County Clerk in the August 6, 2026 county general election, facing Republican nominee Maria Partin 12. King entered the race after incumbent Clerk Todd Nance announced he would not seek re-election 1.

Career

King has held elected office in Campbell County for about ten years, most recently representing the 5th District on the County Commission, and works in the county clerk's office 1. Announcing his candidacy, King said: "After much prayer, reflection, and encouragement from family, friends, and community members, I am proud to announce my candidacy for Campbell County Clerk" 1. He said his experience, commitment to public service, and "deep roots in the county" prepared him for the role, and pledged to run the office "with integrity, efficiency, and respect for every citizen" 1.
