Background and education

Phipps holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed a residency in drug information and pharmacotherapy at the University of Tennessee 3.

Career

Phipps is the owner of Phipps Pharmacy, Inc., which operates community pharmacy locations across West Tennessee including McKenzie, Jackson, Huntingdon, and Waverly 3. He founded the business as managing partner of City Drug Company in McKenzie, later became sole owner, and rebranded it as Phipps Pharmacy in 2004, serving as its president and CEO 3. He has more than 20 years of experience in the profession 3.

Legislative record and accomplishments

Phipps served as president of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association for 2022-2023, leading the organization's board of directors 3. His professional service also includes membership on the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) board of trustees, and he previously served as national president of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists and as chair-elect of the Tennessee association's Society of Student Pharmacists 3.
