Reggie William Hall ran for Mayor of Memphis in the nonpartisan general election on October 5, 2023. He was one of 17 candidates in the field; Paul Young won the election with 27.7 percent of the vote.

Background and education

Hall was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up in South Memphis and is a graduate of Hamilton High School. His mother dedicated her life to community service, which shaped his values.

Hall is a small business owner in the transportation sector and has worked in the fields of mental health and rehabilitation services.

Policy positions

His mayoral campaign focused on public safety and policing reform in the aftermath of the Tyre Nichols incident, education, and poverty reduction. He described poverty and low literacy rates as the greatest challenges facing Memphis and called for expanding access to quality education.
