Harvey Walden is the Republican nominee for Jackson-Madison County School Board District 4 (Position 1) in the August 6, 2026 election, in a race that includes Democratic candidate Claire Spotts.12 According to his campaign, he serves on the Jackson-Madison County School Board, including as its chairman.13

Background and education

Walden was born and grew up in Haywood County, Tennessee, before moving to Jackson, where he has lived for more than 20 years.1 He completed EMT training at Jackson State Community College and studied religious studies and business at Pensacola Christian College.1

Career

Walden has been self-employed for about 35 years and operates a commercial roofing business.1

Family

Walden and his wife, Darlene, have three children.1 He served as a Boy Scout scoutmaster for 12 years and has mentored youth through church groups.1
