Chad McNabb is the incumbent Anderson County Commissioner for District 1, appointed by the commission on Oct. 20, 2025 to fill the vacancy left by Tyler Mayes 1. He announced his campaign to win a full term in District 1 on the Aug. 6, 2026 general election ballot, saying "My goal is to be the kind of commissioner who listens. I want folks to know they can call me, stop me at the grocery store, or reach out anytime" 12.
McNabb holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Middle Tennessee State University and is a longtime Anderson County resident living in Claxton 1.
McNabb has worked at Progressive Sentencing Incorporated (PSI Probation) since 2010 and currently serves as its director 13.
McNabb's appointed term runs through Aug. 31, 2026. District 1 covers the Brushy Valley, Bull Run and Claxton precincts. He serves on the county's Budget and Finance Committee 1.
