Shelly Vandagriff is the incumbent Anderson County Commissioner for District 3, seeking re-election as a Republican in the August 6, 2026 county general election — one of three candidates for two available District 3 seats, alongside Democrat Rodney Archer and fellow Republican Shannon Gray 1. She chairs the county commission's Opioid Settlement Committee 2.
Background and education
Vandagriff grew up in the Fairview community and now lives in the Glen Alpine community of District 3 3. She is a 2019 graduate of the Anderson County Leadership program and has served on the NAGAF Recreation Board of Directors since 2011 (as secretary, 2011–2021), as past president of the Anderson County Wrestling Boosters Club, and with the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, veterans' breakfasts, and Wreaths Across America 3.
Career
Vandagriff has worked as Quality Manager at Aisin Automotive Casting Tennessee for 17 years, and serves on the Tennessee College of Applied Technology–Jacksboro campus's Manufacturing Technology Advisory Board 3.
Office history
Vandagriff first sought the Republican nomination for the District 3 commission seat in the May 2022 primary, campaigning on the district's growth and what she called "strong conservative, commonsense values" 3. She has represented District 3 on the commission since; her current term expires in 2026 4.
