Current office and 2026 campaign

Denise Palmer is the incumbent Anderson County Commissioner for District 2 and current Chairman of the Anderson County Commission — the first woman to hold that chairmanship 12. Announcing her campaign for re-election in the Republican primary, Palmer said: "From maintaining fiscal responsibility to strengthening public safety and supporting infrastructure growth, we've accomplished a great deal. I'm excited to seek re-election in the Republican primary on May 5, 2026, so we can continue this important work together" 3.

Career

As Commission Chairman, Palmer says she has emphasized transparent government, teamwork and fiscal stewardship. With nearly all District 2 voters living within the Clinton city limits, she has worked with Clinton city leadership on shared concerns including street safety, road maintenance, and support for local schools and small businesses 12.

Palmer represents District 2 on the Anderson County Commission and serves on county committees including the Opioid Settlement Committee 4.
