Dale "Bud" Tucker, a Republican, is a candidate for Greene County Commission District 1 (three seats) on the August 6, 2026 county general ballot, having received 713 votes to advance from the May 2026 Republican primary 12. He has said his priorities are maintaining efficient, affordable county government and attracting business and industry so younger residents can stay in Greene County, adding, "I have always been involved in community affairs and feel that I need to serve my community and county" 1.

Background and education

Tucker, 70, is a retired agriculture educator and a beef-cattle and hay farmer, born and raised in Greene County's Woodlawn community 1. He earned an associate's degree in agriculture from Walters State Community College and a bachelor's degree in agriculture from the University of Tennessee, and is a member of First Baptist Church of Baileyton 1.

Office history

Tucker served on the Greene County Commission from 2014 to 2022, sitting on the Budget & Finance, Insurance and Education committees 1. He also served on the board of directors of Farm Credit Mid-America from 2013 to 2025, including as board secretary 1.

Family

He has been married to Beverly Tucker for 42 years; the couple has two adult children and four grandchildren 1.
