David Winston is an entrepreneur, former teen actor, youth instructor, and co-founder of Film Capital Strategies. As a proud Tennessee resident, David has a passion for the state he calls home and aims to draw on his unique background to build strong partnerships in his local area as well as drive positive change. As the managing partner of Film Capital Strategies, David established significant connections with prestigious Hollywood studios including Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal City Studios, Columbia Pictures, and 20th Century Fox. Davidās acting portfolio includes a notable co-starring appearance in the prime-time television series āParker Lewis Canāt Lose,ā a leading role in Herb Freedās film āDead Punkzā and the widely praised movie where David earned a part in āWalk the Line.ā With over two decades in entrepreneurship under his belt, David has proven himself to be a seasoned leader and a trailblazing visionary in his industry, specializing in advancing the boundaries of art while bringing authentic stories to audiences worldwide. Davidās career has always been deeply rooted in the art of storytelling. Heās a firm believer in the power of art to spark personal and social transformation, which inspired him to dedicate numerous years as a drama teacher helping vulnerable young people to build their self-assurance and inventiveness, envision new opportunities, and chase their aspirations. His workshops span non-profit organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Memphis, multiple schools throughout the Mid-South and venues in the tri-state area. David earned his B.A. in communications from the University of Memphis. He served as a Delta Leadership Institute Fellow and is a Leadership Memphis Graduate. As a candidate for Tennessee State Representative, David has made it his mission to empower his community with his positive message and uplift economically disadvantaged areas by fostering strong relationships, flushing out inefficiencies, and strengthening government structures.
