Commissioner David Bradford was elected to serve the citizens of District 2 on August 2, 2018, and was re-elected to a second term in August 2022. District 2 encompasses Collierville and portions of unincorporated areas of Shelby County surrounding Collierville.
David and his brother, Jason, the sons of Patti and David Bradford, were born and raised in Shelby County. His parents still reside here and his brother lives with his family in Pennsylvania.
Commissioner Bradford graduated from Memphis University School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University. Becoming a Licensed Professional Engineer in 2004, he is now licensed in eight states. He has distinguished himself in the field by being named American Council of Engineering Companies Memphis Chapter Featured Engineer (2016) and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers Memphis Chapter Featured Engineer (2010). He is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, U.S. Green Building Council Member, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Member, and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Member.
In addition to his professional pursuits, David is active in the community. He has served on the Town of Collierville Planning Commission (2015- 2018), Urban Land Institute of Memphis Board (2016-2018), YMCA of Memphis Metro Board (2016-2018, Workforce Investment Board (2017-2018), and as a Habitat for Humanity Volunteer. David was named one of Memphis Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2013. He is a graduate of both the Leadership Memphis Executive Program (2015) and Leadership Collierville (2018).
He is celebrating 17 years with SSR, Inc., as a principal of the firm, providing project management and overseeing the mechanical design.
Commissioner Bradford and his wife, Ashley, also a Memphis native, are the proud parents of twins, Ava and David, born in 2014. Rounding out the family is their dog, Baxter. The Bradfords worship at Hope Church.
David’s pastimes include home improvement tasks, woodworking, welding, Grizzlies basketball, learning from his kids, and spending time with his family.
