Michael Foster is a Republican candidate for Anderson County Commission District 2 in Tennessee, seeking election on August 6, 2026 18. He currently serves as the City Manager of Rocky Top, Tennessee 23. Foster is a lifelong resident of Anderson County who graduated from Clinton High School in 2002 and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in 2006 23. He holds certifications as a Certified Public Manager and a Certified Municipal Finance Officer 23.
Foster has been an active member of the Anderson County Commission since at least the 2025-2026 fiscal year, where he is appointed to several standing committees. These include the committee established under the 1981 Financial Management Act, a resolution-based standing committee, and the Opioid Settlement Committee 911. As a candidate, he describes himself as a "strong conservative" who prioritizes low taxes and efficient government 23.
