Commissioner Brandon Morrison began her first term on the Shelby County Board of Commissioners on September 1, 2018, after being elected to represent District 13 on August 2, 2018. After redistricting she was elected to serve District 4 in August 2022 for her second term.
Brandon was born and raised in Memphis, the second of four children. She graduated from St. Mary’s Episcopal School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vanderbilt University with both her B.A and M.B.A.
She is currently the Family Office President of MBA Corporation. Other current positions include Board of Directors, Audit & Executive Committee with Adams Keegan, Her past positions include Board of Directors for Monogram Foods, and Research Analyst at area brokerage firms.
Commissioner Morrison is affiliated with numerous organizations throughout the community: Children’s Foundation (Emeritus Board Member and former Treasurer), Dixon Gallery & Gardens (former Education and Membership Chairs), Memphis Garden Club (past Memphis Flower Show Chair), Second Presbyterian Church Foundation (Grants Committee Chair), The Memphis Zoo Board (Finance/Investment Committee Chair), Baptist Memorial Hospital Community Advisory Board, Second Presbyterian Church (Deacon), Memphis 3.0, St. Mary’s Episcopal School (former Board Chair), Chickasaw Council (Capital Campaign Steering Committee), and Vanderbilt University (Alumni Board).
Brandon is married to Joseph Morrison, CFA. They are the proud parents of five adult children: Allison, Ruthie, Joe, Jane, and Murray. Rounding out the family are our dogs Gus and Obi.
Commissioner Morrison’s other interests include floral design, gardening, reading, and running. She has participated in the St. Jude Half Marathon for several years.
Commissioner Morrison currently serves on the following Standing Committees & Boards:
Land Use Planning, Transportation and Codes Enforcement- Chair Workforce Development- Chair Legislative Affairs- Vice Chair Commissioner Morrison is Past Chair of Community Services and Past Vice-Chair of Education. She has served on the Pension Board, The Beer Board, and The Aging Commission and is currently serving on the Public Records Commission.
Commissioner Morrison was appointed by Governor Bill Lee to serve on the Local Government Planning Advisory Committee/ Joint Economic Community Development Board.
