Personal Statement

My name is Jay J Bowman, (the middle name is only an initial, I’m convinced my parents could not agree on their children's names and just gave them initials). I was born in Michigan and grew up in Utah. I remember the winters, the vast forest of green surrounding the lake of our small town in Michigan. My parents moved to Salt Lake City when I was 8 years old. Utah was a wonderful place to grow up, I enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and love the mountains and deserts of the state. Our father worked 3 jobs when we first moved there to try and make ends meet. He spent long hours working to support his family, While Mom stayed at home to take care of me and my 4 younger siblings. . Eventually my father started his own small business, which no doubt inspired my own entrepreneurial spirit. After my parents divorced, my mother went back to school at the University of Utah and graduated with her degree. We even attended some of the same university classes together! My mother never stopped learning after she graduated and went on to expand her educational horizons, traveling the world on archeological digs. My father ran his successful small business until his early death of cancer. I left the university of Utah to start my own business at the age of 23, and love being a small business owner. In the early 90's I moved to Kentucky for a business opportunity, Kentucky has been a great place to work and raise my family. I was absolutely lucky to be born in this great nation!

Embarking on the path of entrepreneurship has led me through exhilarating peaks and daunting valleys, presenting invaluable lessons along the way. These experiences have instilled in me a deep appreciation for fiscal prudence and resourcefulness, driving me to set ambitious goals, devise strategic plans, and create effective budgets. Cultivating strong collaborations with colleagues and seeking counsel from mentors have been vital components of my journey, yet the responsibility of making sound decisions ultimately rests on my shoulders as a business owner. Throughout my entrepreneurial endeavors, resilience and adaptability have become my constant companions. Despite the challenges and personal imperfections, I continuously strive to uphold the values of integrity and goodness in all aspects of life. These trials and triumphs have not only shaped my character but also fortified my resolve to persevere in the face of adversity. My entrepreneurial pursuits have taken me on a global journey, exposing me to diverse business practices and cultures. As I traveled the world, I've encountered unique perspectives and fostered adaptability and open-mindedness in both my professional and personal life. These experiences have deepened my understanding of our interconnected world, inspiring a commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and ethical decision-making in all facets of my entrepreneurial endeavors.

As a candidate for presidency, I ask myself every day if I am qualified for such an important role. However, I take comfort in the fact that the founding fathers believed I am, The U.S. Constitution states that the president must: Be a natural-born citizen of the United States. Be at least 35 years old. Have been a resident of the United States for 14 years. I trust that they knew what they were doing, and I urge you to trust in me as well.
