Kody Norris (Kenneth Dakota "Kody" Norris) is a member of the Johnson County Commission representing District 7, based in Mountain City 1. He appears on the August 6, 2026 county general-election ballot 1.
Career
Away from county government, Norris is a nationally touring bluegrass musician and the bandleader of The Kody Norris Show, a Mountain City-based act signed to Rebel Records 23. At the 2023 Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) awards, the group and Norris took top honors, including Entertainer of the Year and Guitar Performer of the Year 3. The Kody Norris Show also produces the historic Mountain City Fiddlers Convention 3. Norris's musical ties to his hometown have been recognized locally, including the addition of his name to Mountain City's welcome signage 3.
