Office history
Kuzawinski was appointed to the District 4 seat by sitting county commissioners in September 2025, filling the vacancy created when Carl McCullen resigned to become Columbia's Ward 1 city councilman 2. He had previously served about eight months as District 5 commissioner in 2014–15, and in 2024 ran unsuccessfully for the Columbia city council seat McCullen later held 2. His competitor for the 2025 appointment was Joe Foster, a former county school board chairman 2.
