As sheriff, Matheny leads the Warren County Sheriff's Office, based at 108 Security Circle in McMinnville, which operates the county jail, provides courtroom security and assigns school resource officers 3.
Legislative record and accomplishments
In February 2026, a months-long undercover investigation by the sheriff's office led a Warren County grand jury to indict 24 people on charges tied to selling fentanyl, methamphetamine and prescription drugs; 16 were arrested and booked into the county jail. Matheny said, "Undercover operations are one of the most effective tools law enforcement has to identify those actively selling illegal drugs" 4.
