Glynn is a Democratic member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing District 67, which covers portions of Montgomery County and Clarksville. He was elected in 2022, becoming the first Black representative from the Clarksville area to serve in the state legislature since 1896, defeating Republican Tommy Vallejos by 153 votes. He won re-election in November 2024 by 131 votes. He is running again in 2026.\n\nGlynn has focused on quality education, women's rights, veterans issues, and infrastructure. In his first term he successfully passed legislation addressing Tennessee's shortage of teachers.\n\n## Background and education\nGlynn was born on May 21, 1970, and grew up in Halls, Tennessee. He became a father before age 20. He enlisted in the U.S. Army to support his family, and his initial five-year plan extended to a 23-year career. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Trident University International in 2012 while on active duty.\n\n## Career\nGlynn retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant. His service included the 82nd Airborne Division, 7th Special Forces Group, and 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, with three combat deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. He earned Master Parachutist Wings with the 7th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg. After retirement he founded Jumpmaster Inflatables, a youth inflatable recreation business, and launched Jumpmaster Trucking in 2023.\n\nBefore his election, Glynn chaired the Montgomery County Democratic Party.
