Cheryl Brown is a Republican candidate for Williamson County Commission District 10 (Franklin area), a two-member district whose general-election field also includes incumbent Bill Petty and Democrats Jody Todd and David Steele 12.

Office history

Brown was appointed interim District 10 commissioner in 2024 to fill the seat vacated by David Landrum, who resigned after moving out of his district 13.

Career and community involvement

Brown is the longtime CEO of the Good Neighbor Foundation, a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, and a former chair of the Williamson County Republican Party 1.

Documented disputes and controversies

Brown's 2024 appointment drew criticism over process. The county commission selected her on a 4-3-4 vote, with commissioners Mary Smith, Barb Sturgeon, and Christopher Richards voting no and four others abstaining 3. The conservative outlet Tennessee Conservative reported that the commission nominated the former GOP chair "with little to no public notice" 4.
