Current office and 2026 campaign
Lucille Mack-Catron ran for election to the Memphis City Council to represent Super District 8, Position 3, in the October 5, 2023 general election. She was one of seven candidates in the race.
Career
Catron has served as Executive Director of the Beale Street Development Corporation (BSDC), which holds a 52-year master lease on Beale Street. She assumed that leadership role following the 2015 death of her husband, Randle Catron, who was among the original group of African-American entrepreneurs who lobbied to revive Beale Street. Catron also owns the Historic Daisy Theatre on Beale Street and has operated Lucille's Boutique in the Orange Mound neighborhood of Memphis for decades.
Catron has been an active presence in Memphis civic life and is widely known in Memphis as "Auntie Lucille."
