Menefee.\n\n## Background and education\nAdams earned his Bachelor of Science from Bluefield College and his Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law.\n\n## Career\nBefore his judicial appointment, Adams was the principal owner of a private law practice in Winston-Salem. He had previously practiced at Crumley and Associates, P.C. and at Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice LLP. In addition to his private practice, he served as an adjunct professor at Winston-Salem State University.
