Aaron Wells is the Republican Anderson County Commissioner representing District 6, seeking reelection in the county general election on August 6, 2026 12.

Career

Wells is a small business owner and has held Oak Ridge civic leadership roles for over a decade, including serving as a unit board president for the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Ridge and chairing its annual gala, and serving as chairperson of the Oak Ridge Convention and Visitors Bureau board through January 2015 3. In 2014 he ran unsuccessfully for Oak Ridge Board of Education, campaigning against a proposed one-to-one student technology initiative and for what he called a "back to the basics" approach in schools 3.

Office history

Wells appeared at the Anderson County Republican Party's candidate forum in June 2024 to discuss his bid to keep his District 6 seat 4. As of the 2025-2026 committee year he serves on the county's Human Resource Advisory Committee 5.
