Ron M. Gant is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives representing the 94th district, which covers Fayette and McNairy Counties. He was first elected in 2016 after the incumbent resigned and the interim appointee declined to seek election. He currently serves as Majority Assistant Leader, responsible for advancing the governor's conservative legislative agenda.
He serves on the Finance, Ways, and Means Committee; the Health Committee; and the Local Government Committee.
Gant was born in December 1971 and is a fifth-generation Tennessean from the Rossville and Collierville area of southwest Tennessee. He attended Rossville Christian Academy and studied business at Liberty University before graduating from the University of Tennessee Martin WestStar program.
Gant spent 17 years in the insurance industry, rising to serve as Vice President and then President of Insurance Associates of Tennessee Inc., providing coverage to West Tennessee residents.
Before his election, Gant served as Chairman of the Fayette County Republican Party and as a Fayette County Commissioner. He also served as Chairman of Rossville Christian Academy's school board. He is a member of the Somerville Rotary Club and local chambers of commerce.
He is married to Dr. Karen Gant and they have two children. The family attends First Baptist Church Fisherville.
