Harris previously ran for the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education, Seat 6 (Special), in the November 8, 2022 general election 3. Official North Carolina State Board of Elections precinct-level results show Harris won that race, defeating W. Jean Kennedy 19,458 votes to 16,220 2.
