He previously ran for the same seat in the 2020 Republican primary but was defeated. He is also running for Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committeeman for the 28th District in 2026.\n\n## Background and education\nCuevas was born in Tarzana, California. He has served in the United States Air Force since 2000. He earned degrees from the Community College of the Air Force and Columbia State Community College, and a degree from Bethel University in 2018.\n\n## Career\nCuevas served as a Marshall County Commissioner. He has served in the Marshall County Republican Party as Treasurer and established and chaired its Young Republicans chapter. He has pledged support for congressional term limits. He was selected as a Tennessee delegate for President Donald J.
